A wooden train rolled into the station silently. Each of the train cars was painted in different colors. The first was red, the second was yellow, the third was green, and the last was black. The train came to a full stop. A steamy exhaust was released and the passengers rushed out of the train in the order of cars. Most of the people were tourists who had come to visit the west. They crowded the terminal until they found their exit into the sandy wasteland.
All of the cars had been emptied except for the last one. It sat at the end of the train, almost as if it were a shadow following the other cars from the big city to the middle of nowhere.
The conductor finally reached to the end of the train where he opened the last door. A cold gust of wind was exhaled from the train. A thick fog surrounded the door as the hot desert air and cold air-conditioned breeze collided. The conductor rubbed his arms to stay warm from the chill.
"L-last stop!" He called into the car. He backed away to let the passengers out. There was only one.
"So this is the old west." A dark voice murmured. A man with brown skin stepped out of the shadow like car. His boots, pants, shirt, jacket, and cowboy hat were all black. It was as if the shadow of the last car and clung to him. He looked down at the conductor. "Well is it?"
"Y-yes sir, this is the old west." The conductor replied. The man looked out past the fog that was beginning to clear. He saw the last set of tourists scurry away from the train.
"Which way to the town of Asylum?" The strange man asked. He glared at the conductor who was either shaking from the freezing cold air or in fear.
"T-t-ten miles north sir. But you would need a-
"I have a ride." The man interjected and walked past the conductor. His boots clicked loudly on the wooden platform as he made his way to the exit.
The hot sun burned the desert. The man stared out into the nothingness. Only sand and a few cacti that could be seen scattered across the landscape. It appeared to be noon since the sun hovered directly above him. He glanced over to see a black horse with bright red eyes. The horse breathed heavily. It looked mad. "This will do." The man muttered. He cut the horse loose and quickly sat across its back. "North." He said, then moving the horse's reign signaling it to move.
The horse didn't walk or run. Instead it hopped forward as if it were a toy a child was picking up and dropping a few feet away. The horse hopped wildly into the desert, it bumped into a few of the cacti and knocked them over. "Ten miles of this." The man said and rolled his eyes.
The town of Asylum.
Asylum was an old place. The wooden buildings were falling apart. Loose boards hung down on every building. People were just too lazy to go and fix anything. Some of the buildings were painted, maybe when the town was first built. A few of the older structures had completely fallen down, but people still managed to live in the rubble. From far away the buildings looked as if they were made of giant popsicle sticks.
The sheriff's office lay at the end of the long stretch of broken buildings. The sheriff would normally be out and about around noon to make sure his city was running with out disturbances. He wasn't, because the only disturbance was right in his office, talking to him face to face.
"I want the town sheriff!" The man with brown skin and all black clothes demanded.
"You city kids think ya'll can run up any where and demand everything and get it. They spoiled you rotten, didn't they boy?" The Sheriff said. He shifted his dark green hat a little bit and shined the badge on his shirt with his sleeve.
"We will have to do this my way then." The man pointed his index finger at the sheriff. The sheriff looked up in shock.
"N-now now there ain't no reason for this." The old sheriff raised both of his hands as if a gun was being held out at him. The strange man edged closer to the sheriff.
"My name is Ken, and I am the new sheriff. BANG!" He shouted as he imagined pulling the trigger of gun. The sheriff clutched his heart as if he was shot. He breathed slowly.
"Y-You BASTARD!" He howled as he fell to the ground with a loud thump. The last of his life left his body as he became still and his eyes closed shut.
"Naptime." Ken muttered and he snatched the star like badge off of the sheriff. He then left the station and made his way into town.
Ken stood outside of the sheriff's office. The former sheriff's body had been placed out on a bright blue cot. He looked as if he had just fallen asleep, but those that passed by knew exactly what had happened.
Ken took a few steps out into his town. It was no later than two in the afternoon. "I am getting sloppy." He muttered. "It took me a whole two hours to take this town." He stopped next to a nearby house that looked older than anything he had ever seen. He placed one hand on the side of the building to support himself as he gazed out at the town and plotted his next move.
The corner of the building shook beneath the weight of Ken's arm. The old building grumbled a bit before at caved forward. Ken nearly fell forward but he quickly regaining his balance. He stared wide-eyed as the two-story building that was crashing down. Then it fell into the building next to it that also crumbled and collapsed into the building next to that one. This continued until half of the town had turned into nothing but ruble and dust. Sand and dirt rose up like a stagnant sand storm. "You have got to be kidding me…" Ken muttered in shock. He now wondered if this town was even worth having.
"My mansion!" A western voice rose out of the debris of the first house that had caved in. A man with light skin and curly black hair crawled out from a wooden plank. He coughed loudly, the dust from the half collapsed town had not settled.
"That was a mansion?" Ken asked with a quizzical look. "That old, broken, wooden shed that didn't look worth a damn was a mansion?" The strange man stood up. He wore a white suit that was now smeared with the dust and debris from his collapsed home.
"Well excuse me!" The man exclaimed. "My name is Seth and I am the resident bajillionaire!" Seth had light grey eyes that shinned with pride in the afternoon sun.
Ken smirked at Seth who stood a bit taller than he did. "I guess I will terrorize the town before my hunter gets here." He reached in his pocket and produced a black ink pen.

Amber arrived to the town of Asylum a few minutes past three. She wore a long red dress and high, and black boots. She also wore a matching scarf that covered her mouth and nose from the sand blowing in the wind and a pair of black goggles. Her hair was a dark brown and flowed gently in a low wind. She had tan skin from walking through the desert for ten miles from the train station.
Amber stared out at the half of Asylum that remained. "I suppose he is still here." She muttered to herself as she stepped into town.
"I'm guessin you're the city chick sent after that mad man whose done gone killed the poor old sheriff huh?" A woman with light colored skin, long blond hair and dark blue eyes approached Amber. "My name is Natalie." She said. She was dressed like a cowgirl and held a dark brown hat in her hand. She walked over to Amber and shook her hand.
"So he has killed again?" Amber said. "I am surprised the whole town isn't dead by now."
"Ain't you all cheery." Natalie said sarcastically as she placed her hat on her head. She pointed out her index fingers at the ground as if they were guns. "So we gonna get the new sheriff or what?" Amber looked at Natalie for a second as if she were insane. It looked like this girl was just in the game for a gunfight. Amber wanted to take down her bounty alive. There would be more reward money for her in that way.
"No. I do not involve civilians in state affairs." Amber walked past Natalie with another word.
"WELL, I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY TOO!" Natalie said in disappointment while staring at Amber walk through the dust filled town towards her mark.
Amber passed the homes and businesses that had crashed down in some sort of domino effect accident. "He normally isn't this sloppy." She muttered under he breath. She could see civilians still crawling out from under the collapsed structures. Normally she would stop and help, but this was the closest she had gotten to Ken's capture. She wasn't going to pass that up. She knew that today was the day.

Ken kicked Seth onto the ground for the tenth time, and kicked him while he was down for the sixteenth time within the hour. Ken laughed madly before kicking Seth for the seventeenth time while he was down. "I am sorry, but this is just too much fun." Ken chuckled.
"W-why do you keep KICKING ME?" Seth howled in confusion. "It hurts." He muttered.
"It hurts to keep laughing." Ken chuckled madly. Half the town had climbed out of their broken homes to watch. They laughed hysterically along with Ken. "Okay, okay." Ken managed to muffle out while he chocked on the last of his snickering. He extended his hand and helped Seth up for the eleventh time now.
"Thank you." Seth said a bit angrily. He dusted his suit off and turned and began to walk away. Across the back of his white suit the words "Kick Me" was scribbled. Ken covered his mouth with his hand to hold back his chuckle. He shrugged his shoulder at the audience as he then kicked Seth to the ground again. He raised both of his hands in victory and the laughter of the crowd boomed.
"This is enough Ken!" A woman's voice commanded through the crowds roar. Amber strolled into the circle of mockery with one of her index finger pointed out towards Ken. He chuckled.
"So you have finally arrived, just when I started to have some fun. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? SHOOT ME?" He screamed madly with a dark grin.
"If I have to I will."
"Why are you always so late to my parties like this? Its not like I haven't left a trail for you to follow." Ken mocked Amber on the last cities he had wrecked havoc on days before his hunter had caught up to him.
"Heroes always arrive late. It's more dramatic. Deal with it!" She locked onto Ken with a clear shot. She was desperate now, knowing how many times he has escaped. She would be willing to put a bullet in his head just to end the game. "NO!" She screamed. Ken pointed both his hands at the crowd and closed all of his fingers except his index fingers.
"BANG, BANG!" Two of the spectators fell to the ground "A hero arrives late for drama." Ken mocked.
"No that's just cold hearted lady." Natalie had followed Amber into the town but waited outside of the crowd. Waiting for the right moment to strike. Seth got up and slipped away without anyone noticing. He too now hid in the crowd.
"You hear them Amber. They are starting to think that you're the villain."
"Shut UP! BANG!" Amber screamed. Ken dodged to the side and one of the people behind him crashed to the ground without a wound, just like the other two Ken had shot. "Damn you." Amber muttered.
"No we are both the villains. BANG, BANG, BANG!" Ken screamed as he aimed both of his guns at Amber. She quickly dodged and more of the people in the crowd started dropping. Those still awake dragged over blue cots and rested the bodies of the fallen, just like the old sheriff.
"BANG, BANG!" Amber howled as she watched more and more of the crowd fell while Ken ducked away. Thirty blue cots that the townspeople were placed on surrounded Ken and Amber.
"It's the final Naptime Amber, it's just you and me." Ken said.
"You are so going down." Amber smirked.
"Not so fast!" Natalie appeared out of nowhere. She pointed one finger at Ken and another at Amber. Amber then pointed one finger at Natalie and kept one at Ken. Ken then aimed at both Amber and Natalie.
"Who is this?" Ken asked with a puzzling look.
"I don't know. Some chick I met on my way in."
"I am going to kill both of you and become the next sheriff." Natalie proclaimed.
"No." Ken said. "I am not sharing, and I am not dying." Suddenly a fourth person appeared on the other side of Amber and Ken also pointing two guns at them. Ken and amber took their target off of each other and pointed it and the next threat. It was Seth.
"I have two guns!" Seth howled while pointing his index fingers at Ken and Amber.
"And…so because you have two guns you are going to point them at us? What rationale is that?" Amber asked.
"You couldn't have thought of a better line?" Ken asked.
"Seth, you are just a big giant LOSER!" Natalie screamed without her accent.
"Great… They are falling out of character." Ken muttered.

At the daycare Miss Rose had taken a quick break to eat lunch in the faculty café while her pre-school students slept soundly. Or so she had assumed. She finished a toasted bagel and threw the remains of her lunch away. She combed through her long red hair with her hand before she slowly made her way back to her classroom. From outside of the room she could hear four voices yelling at the top of their lungs. She rolled her eyes. She knew it was the usual suspects.
Miss Rose entered the room. The lights were out while her children had their naptime. She passed a beige table where a wooden block train was knocked over. There were plastic cacti scattered across the table. Some had been knocked over by a plastic horse that one of the children had been playing with earlier. A box of popsicle sticks had also fallen over, some were stacked to form what looked like a building or two.
She quickly glanced around the room and saw everyone was still asleep on their blue cots, except for four. Miss Rose made her way to the back of the classroom where she could hear arguing. She knew what she would find, and knew she would have an even tougher time getting them to finally take a nap unless they finished their story.
In the back of the classroom Ken, Amber, Natalie, and Seth pointed their index fingers at each other.
"I am going to be sheriff F-O-R-E-V-E-R!" Ken yelled at the top of his lungs.
"NO!" I am finally going to catch you and bring peace to the town like the hero should!" Amber argued.
"I want to be sheriff!" Natalie cried. Seth said nothing but yawned loudly.
Miss Rose knew exactly how to end the story. Her four students hadn't noticed her watching them. "Bang!" She shouted. Each of the children thought the other had shot at them and began a small shoot out. The four children fell to the carpeted floor dramatically. Miss Rose smirked now that the whole room was finally in silence.
The End…
